A heritage-focused school in Biggleswade is seeking a part-time History Teacher to join its humanities department. The successful candidate will teach a broad curriculum and contribute to educational visits and local history projects.
The Role
History Teaching: Deliver KS3, GCSE and selected A-Level lessons.
Source Analysis: Develop students’ ability to interpret evidence and historical accounts.
Local History: Support projects exploring the history of Bedfordshire and the surrounding area.
Examination Preparation: Teach essay writing, source questions and historical interpretations.
Educational Visits: Contribute to museums, heritage sites and historical workshops.
The Candidate
Degree: A degree in History, Heritage Studies or a related discipline.
Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of British and international history.
Practical Approach: Enthusiasm for visits, artefacts and historical investigation.
Teaching Ability: Clear explanations and effective classroom practice.
Organisation: Strong planning and communication skills.
