This role would suit a Chemistry Teacher who enjoys making scientific concepts relevant and understandable to students. You will teach across Key Stage 3 Science and Key Stage 4 Chemistry, delivering a mixture of classroom-based and practical lessons.
You will be responsible for planning lessons that allow students to develop their understanding of chemical principles, scientific vocabulary and practical investigation. At GCSE level, you will help pupils prepare for examinations while ensuring they understand the scientific ideas behind the topics they are studying rather than simply learning content by rote.
Practical science is an important part of the role, so confidence in delivering demonstrations and practical activities is desirable. You will also work alongside other members of the Science Department to ensure students receive a consistent and well-sequenced curriculum.

Chemistry Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Chemistry Degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Strong Chemistry subject knowledge
Ability to teach KS3 Science and KS4 Chemistry
GCSE Chemistry experience
Confidence delivering practical Science
Strong classroom management
Ability to engage students with different abilities
Good planning and assessment skills
Commitment to safeguarding and student development
Salary
The salary for this Chemistry Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
