The Role

Working closely with expert science teachers, you will be the engine room of the prep room, ensuring students can carry out engaging practical lessons safely and effectively.

• Experiment Preparation: Set up, test, and prepare chemicals, biological specimens, and physics apparatus for practical classes and demonstrations.

• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, calibrate, and service laboratory equipment, glassware, and measuring tools to stringent safety standards.

• Classroom & Student Support: Assist teachers and guide students during practical lessons on the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment and scientific instruments.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a spotless, hazard-free lab and prep room environment, manage COSHH and CLEAPSS logs, and enforce strict chemical safety and PPE protocols.

• Resource & Stock Management: Monitor chemical and equipment stock levels, manage inventory databases, and coordinate equipment ordering within the department.
