The Role
Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead the site and caretaking team, driving the strategic and operational management of the academy's buildings and grounds.
Estate & Facilities Management: Oversee day-to-day site operations, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and major capital improvement projects across the campus.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to statutory health and safety regulations, including fire safety, legionella testing, asbestos management, and COSHH logs.
Team Leadership: Manage, train, and schedule the site, caretaking, and cleaning staff to guarantee seamless daily operations and security.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination: Procure and manage external contractors, service level agreements (SLAs), and routine equipment servicing.
Security & Emergency Response: Act as a key holder and lead responder for site security, emergency call-outs, and campus protection.

Prioritizes Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, building compliance, and site security protocols (e.g., IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are a distinct advantage).
Is Highly Organized: Exceptional project management skills, strong budgeting capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Engages Well: A professional, authoritative, yet approachable leadership style capable of communicating effectively with contractors, staff, students, and governors.
