The Role
As our IT Technician, you will be the go-to expert for day-to-day hardware, software, and network troubleshooting across the school. Working closely with the IT Network Manager, you will ensure our digital learning environments are secure, seamless, and fully operational.
Your responsibilities will include:
Helpdesk Support: Responding promptly to IT support tickets logged by staff and students, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network faults.
Hardware & Software Maintenance: Installing, configuring, and updating operating systems, classroom software, interactive whiteboards, and desktop/laptop devices.
Network & Device Management: Assisting with user account management (Active Directory/Google Workspace/Office 365), password resets, and network permissions.
Hardware Repairs: Carrying out routine diagnostic checks, hardware upgrades, and minor repairs on school-owned tech.
AV & Event Support: Setting up and providing technical assistance for audio-visual equipment during assemblies, school productions, and evening events.
Asset Tracking & Inventory: Keeping accurate records of all IT hardware, software licenses, and equipment deployments.
Cybersecurity & Compliance: Helping maintain data security standards, backups, and safeguarding protocols across school networks.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Qualified with a background in IT, Computing, or a related technical discipline (CompTIA, IT apprenticeship, degree, or equivalent experience).
Experienced in troubleshooting Windows/Mac operating systems, MS Office 365/Google Workspace, and basic network infrastructure.
Methodical, calm under pressure, and brilliant at solving technical problems efficiently.
Excellent at communicating technical information clearly to non-technical staff and students.
Highly organised, proactive, and capable of prioritizing a busy helpdesk workload.
Friendly, approachable, and excited to support a vibrant educational community.
