A supportive school in Hounslow is seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team on a full-time basis. About the Role

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide classroom and individual support to students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other members of the support team to help students access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning and develop their confidence and independence.

You will play an important role in creating a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment, adapting your approach according to the individual needs of each student.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

• Experience supporting students with SEN is advantageous

• A patient, caring and positive approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build trusting relationships with students

• Good understanding of supporting individual learning needs

• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required

• Assist students with accessing lessons and completing activities

• Support students' academic, social and emotional development

• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement

• Help students develop confidence and independence

• Work closely with teachers and other support staff

• Contribute to an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment
