History Teacher – High-Performing Secondary School | Derby

A high-performing secondary school in Derby is looking for a History Teacher to join its Humanities department. The school is committed to providing students with an ambitious and engaging curriculum and is seeking a teacher who can inspire curiosity about the past while developing strong analytical and examination skills. The position is available from September.

The Role

  • Teach History across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of historical periods and topics.

  • Prepare GCSE students for examinations.

  • Monitor attainment and provide effective feedback.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold QTS and a relevant History degree.

  • Have strong subject knowledge.

  • Be confident teaching GCSE History.

  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management.

  • Have a commitment to high standards and student progress.
