About the School
We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and reliable AV Technician to join our friendly co-educational primary school in Gloucestershire.
Technology plays an increasingly important role in supporting teaching, learning and communication across our school. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our audio-visual equipment and systems are reliable, accessible and ready to use, providing practical technical support to staff and pupils.
The Role
As AV Technician, you will provide day-to-day technical support across the school, helping staff to make effective use of audio-visual technology in classrooms, assemblies, performances, meetings and school events.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day technical support for AV equipment throughout the school.
Setting up and operating audio, visual and presentation equipment for assemblies, performances, meetings and events.
Maintaining projectors, interactive displays, screens, speakers, microphones, cameras and related equipment.
Troubleshooting technical faults and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
Supporting staff with the use of AV equipment and providing guidance where required.
Preparing equipment and technical facilities for school productions, concerts and special events.
Managing and maintaining an accurate inventory of AV equipment and accessories.
Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.
Liaising with external suppliers and contractors when specialist repairs or support are required.
Assisting with the development and improvement of the school's AV facilities.
Ensuring equipment is stored securely and used appropriately.
Supporting the wider school team with technology-related tasks where appropriate.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Technically confident, practical and solutions-focused.
Comfortable working with a range of audio, visual and presentation equipment.
Able to diagnose problems and find effective solutions under pressure.
Organised and able to manage competing priorities.
Patient and approachable when supporting colleagues who have varying levels of technical confidence.
Able to work independently while also contributing positively to the wider school team.
Flexible and willing to support occasional events outside normal school hours.
Interested in new technology and keen to keep their technical knowledge up to date.
Previous experience in an AV, technical support, education, events or similar environment would be advantageous.
