This is an excellent opportunity for an Economics Teacher who enjoys teaching both the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject.
You will teach Economics across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, helping students develop their understanding of markets, economic policy, government intervention, international trade, business behaviour and wider economic issues.
The successful candidate will need to be confident explaining economic theory and helping students apply it to real-world examples. Students should be encouraged to analyse data, evaluate different viewpoints and construct clear, well-supported arguments.
You will be responsible for planning engaging lessons, assessing student work and preparing students effectively for examinations. A strong understanding of GCSE and A-Level examination requirements will be important.
The Economics department encourages students to follow current economic developments and understand how economic decisions affect everyday life. You will therefore be expected to bring relevant examples and current issues into your teaching where appropriate.

Economics Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Economics degree or related degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Economics
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5
GCSE Economics experience
A-Level Economics experience
Strong knowledge of economic theory and current issues
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Strong classroom management
Ability to prepare students effectively for examinations
Commitment to high academic standards
Salary
The salary for this Economics Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
