The successful candidate will teach Psychology at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, helping students develop a strong understanding of psychological approaches, research methods and the application of psychological concepts.
The school is looking for a teacher who can make Psychology interesting and accessible while ensuring students develop the detailed knowledge required for their examinations. You should be confident teaching students how to evaluate theories, interpret research and construct well-developed written responses.
Lessons should provide students with opportunities to discuss ideas, analyse evidence and apply psychological knowledge to different situations. The successful candidate will need to balance engaging classroom activities with the structured preparation required for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
You will be responsible for planning lessons, marking work and assessing student progress. You will also work with colleagues to identify students who need additional support and provide appropriate intervention.
The role would suit an experienced Psychology Teacher, although applications from ambitious teachers with strong subject knowledge and relevant teaching experience will also be considered.

Psychology Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Psychology degree or related degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Psychology
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5
GCSE and/or A-Level Psychology experience
Strong knowledge of psychological theories and research
Good understanding of examination requirements
Excellent communication skills
Strong classroom management
Ability to encourage analytical and evaluative thinking
Commitment to student achievement
Salary
The salary for this Psychology Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
