An ambitious and modern secondary school in Derby is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join its thriving Social Sciences department. This full-time, permanent position involves delivering high-quality Psychology lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level), introducing students to cognitive processes, social influence, psychopathology, and psychological research methods.
The role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners looking for a supportive environment with a strong Sixth Form focus. You will join a collaborative department dedicated to fostering critical thinking, analytical writing, and scientific enquiry.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Teaching: Plan and deliver rigorous, engaging Psychology lessons across GCSE and A-Level, breaking down complex psychological theories, core studies, and research methodologies.
Student Outcomes: Track student attainment, lead targeted exam-technique workshops, and prepare Sixth Form students thoroughly for A-Level examinations and higher education routes.
Departmental Contribution: Collaborate on curriculum enrichment, update scheme-of-work resources, and support extra-curricular clubs or Psychology societies.
Qualifications: Relevant degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline alongside QTS or PGCE.
