We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Premises Manager to join the dedicated support team of a successful and oversubscribed secondary school in Berkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong facilities, maintenance or trade skills to oversee the upkeep, security, and smooth daily operation of the school’s site and buildings.

The Role Working closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership, you will be responsible for:

• Managing routine and preventative maintenance across all school buildings and grounds

• Overseeing site security, including locking/unlocking procedures, CCTV, and alarm systems

• Ensuring full compliance with health and safety, fire safety, and statutory testing regulations

• Supervising site staff, caretakers, and external contractors carrying out repairs or capital projects

• Managing facilities-related stock, equipment, and repair budgets

• Assisting with risk assessments, site audits, and emergency procedures

The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong background in facilities management, general maintenance, or a relevant trade

• Is highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities independently

• Possesses a strong working knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations in a workplace setting

• Can communicate effectively with staff, contractors, pupils, and governors

• Previous experience within a school or educational environment is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
