An Outstanding secondary school in Wandsworth is looking for a dedicated Geography Teacher to join its successful Humanities department.
You will teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering both physical and human Geography. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver lessons that develop students' knowledge while also teaching them to analyse information, interpret geographical data and understand the relationship between people and the physical environment.
GCSE Geography experience is essential, while A-Level teaching experience would be welcomed for candidates who have the appropriate subject knowledge.
The department encourages students to engage with current geographical issues and understand how the concepts they learn in the classroom apply to the wider world. You will therefore be expected to use a range of examples, case studies, maps, data and other resources to make lessons meaningful.
You will also contribute to assessment, marking and curriculum development, working closely with colleagues to monitor student progress.

Geography Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Geography degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Geography at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Geography experience
A-Level experience desirable
Strong knowledge of physical and human Geography
Confident use of geographical data and case studies
Strong classroom management
Excellent communication skills
Commitment to student progress and achievement
Salary
The salary for this Geography Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
