This is an exciting opportunity for a Maths Teacher who wants to work in a well-resourced department with high expectations for student achievement. You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop secure mathematical knowledge and the ability to apply it confidently to unfamiliar problems.
The role will involve delivering well-structured lessons that cater for a range of abilities. You will need to be able to explain mathematical concepts clearly and patiently while also providing appropriate challenge for students who are ready to progress further.
GCSE teaching experience is essential, and there may be opportunities to teach A-Level Mathematics for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate.
The department encourages students to develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills rather than relying solely on memorisation. You will therefore be expected to use a range of teaching approaches and provide students with opportunities to apply their knowledge independently.
The successful candidate will also contribute to assessment, marking, curriculum planning and departmental meetings.

Maths Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Mathematics or related degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Mathematics experience
KS5/A-Level experience desirable
Strong mathematical subject knowledge
Excellent classroom management
Ability to differentiate effectively
Strong communication skills

Salary
The salary for this Maths Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
