A welcoming primary school in Croydon is looking for a professional and organised School Administrator to join its busy administration team.
This is a varied school office position for someone who enjoys working with people but is equally comfortable dealing with records, correspondence and day-to-day administration. You will help ensure the office runs smoothly and will be an important point of contact for parents, pupils, staff and visitors.
The school is looking for someone who can remain calm when the office becomes busy, maintain a high level of accuracy and provide a friendly but professional service.
School Information
The school is an established primary school in Torquay with a strong community focus. It aims to provide children with a safe, welcoming and well-organised environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and personally.
The administration team supports almost every aspect of school life. From answering parent enquiries and maintaining pupil records to supporting attendance, admissions and school events, the office plays an important role in keeping the school organised.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, teachers, support staff and families.
The school values staff who are reliable, approachable and willing to take responsibility for their work.

You may deal with enquiries about attendance, school trips, forms, appointments, uniform, letters or general arrangements.
You should be able to provide straightforward information confidently while recognising when a matter needs to be referred to a teacher, pastoral colleague or senior leader.
Some conversations may be sensitive, so patience and professionalism will be important.
Working with Pupils

Pupils may visit the office because they are unwell, have an appointment, need to contact home or require assistance.
The successful candidate should have a warm and reassuring manner while maintaining appropriate boundaries and following school procedures.
Records and Administration
A significant part of the role will involve keeping information accurate.
You will update pupil records, prepare correspondence and use school systems to record relevant information.
Strong IT skills will therefore be useful. Experience with Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom or another MIS would be advantageous, although the school will consider candidates with strong transferable administrative experience.
