Science Technician – Chester | Immediate Start

ASAP Start | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am–4:30pm Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–4:00pm Friday

A secondary school in Chester is seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to support its science department on a full-time basis.

You’ll work alongside the teaching team to prepare practical lessons, maintain equipment and make sure laboratories are ready for use throughout the school day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare and organise equipment and materials for Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons.

  • Set up practical experiments and demonstrations.

  • Clear away and maintain equipment following lessons.

  • Keep laboratories and preparation areas clean, safe and well organised.

  • Monitor stock and assist with ordering resources.

  • Support teachers with practical activities where needed.

  • Follow COSHH and all relevant health and safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician, ideally within a secondary school.

  • Good understanding of laboratory equipment and practical science.

  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and COSHH.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Able to prioritise tasks and work independently.

  • Practical, dependable and confident working as part of a science department.

Experience with GCSE practical work would be beneficial.
