A highly regarded secondary school in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Careataker to oversee site operations.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure the school remains safe, secure, compliant and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the school site and facilities.

• Lead and coordinate the site and caretaking team.

• Manage contractors, maintenance works and reactive repairs.

• Monitor building systems, utilities and site infrastructure.

• Coordinate statutory compliance checks and maintain accurate records.

• Oversee fire safety, water safety, emergency lighting and security checks.

• Respond to emergencies and ensure issues are resolved promptly.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be practical, dependable and proactive, with the ability to identify problems and resolve them efficiently. Previous maintenance or caretaking experience is preferred, but candidates with the right practical skills will also be considered.
