School Caretaker - Organised School in Peterborough

A friendly and well-regarded secondary school in Peterborough is looking for a hands-on School Caretaker to become an important part of its site team.

This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the school and ensuring the premises remain safe, secure and welcoming.

Your Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily checks of the school buildings and grounds.

  • Complete general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY.

  • Manage site security, including opening, closing and alarms.

  • Prepare rooms and facilities for school and community events.

  • Identify and report maintenance and health and safety issues.

  • Work with contractors when specialist work is required.

Requirements

  • Previous caretaking, maintenance or site experience preferred.

  • Practical, hands-on approach.

  • Good health and safety awareness.

  • Reliable and well organised.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
