Role Overview
A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Windsor is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team. This full-time, term-time-only position involves providing essential classroom support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
The role is ideal for a compassionate individual with prior experience supporting young learners, or a graduate seeking valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver small group interventions, offer one-to-one assistance, and foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Classroom Support: Assist class teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and the delivery of tailored learning activities across core subjects.
Targeted Interventions: Lead small group reading, phonics, or numeracy support sessions, as well as providing dedicated 1:1 support for children with additional needs.
Pupil Well-being: Promote positive behaviour, support social-emotional development, and help create a safe, encouraging classroom atmosphere.
Inclusion & Inclusion: Work collaboratively with the SENCO and class teachers to adapt learning materials for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Qualifications & Skills: Good standard of literacy and numeracy (Grade C/4+ in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent), excellent communication skills, patience, and a clear Enhanced DBS check.
