An established Independent School in Wandsworth is seeking a committed Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities team. The successful candidate will teach engaging RE lessons that encourage students to consider different beliefs, ethical questions and philosophical ideas while developing their ability to form and justify their own opinions.
You will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to contribute to Key Stage 5 for a candidate with suitable experience. GCSE teaching experience is particularly desirable.
The department encourages discussion, debate and independent thought. You will therefore need to be confident leading classroom conversations and creating an environment where students feel comfortable expressing their ideas respectfully.
The successful candidate will also take responsibility for planning, assessment and tracking student progress. Working collaboratively with colleagues will be an important part of the role, particularly when reviewing curriculum content and sharing effective approaches to teaching.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or related degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching RE at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE RE experience
Strong subject knowledge
Excellent communication skills
Confident classroom management
Ability to encourage thoughtful discussion and debate
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience.
