This position offers the opportunity to become part of a dedicated Modern Foreign Languages department where students are encouraged to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
You will be responsible for teaching French across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including preparation for GCSE where appropriate. Lessons should be engaging, purposeful and appropriately challenging, with students given regular opportunities to use French confidently in practical situations.
The school is looking for a teacher who can create a positive classroom atmosphere while maintaining high expectations. You should be comfortable adapting lessons for different levels of ability and using a range of activities to keep students actively involved.
Alongside classroom teaching, you will contribute to assessment, marking, curriculum planning and departmental meetings. You will also be expected to monitor student progress and identify where additional support or challenge may be required.

French Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
French degree or relevant language qualification
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching French at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE French experience
Strong spoken and written French
Good classroom management
Ability to motivate and engage students
Salary
The salary for this French Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience.
