Science Technician – Support a Strong Science Department | October Start
October 2026 | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 35–37 hours per week | Temporary – 1–2 Terms
A high-performing secondary school in Enfield is seeking a reliable and practical Science Technician to support its busy science department from October.
You’ll help teachers prepare and deliver practical lessons across the sciences, ensuring laboratories, equipment and materials are ready for use.
What You’ll Be Doing
Prepare equipment and materials for practical lessons.
Set up and clear away experiments.
Maintain laboratory equipment and stock.
Support teachers during practical sessions.
Ensure laboratories are kept clean and safe.
Follow health and safety and COSHH procedures.
Monitor supplies and assist with ordering when required.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a relevant laboratory environment.
Good understanding of practical science and laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of safe chemical handling and COSHH.
Well organised with good attention to detail.
Able to work independently and manage a busy workload.
Reliable, practical and confident working alongside teaching staff.
Previous experience supporting GCSE practical work would be beneficial.
Working Hours
The role will generally follow school opening times, with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–4:30pm, and Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm.
