The Role

As a Business Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging Business lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

• Differentiating lessons and resources to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.

• Preparing students effectively for internal and external assessments.

• Marking and assessing students' work in accordance with school and departmental policies.

• Monitoring student progress and implementing appropriate interventions where required.

• Developing students' understanding of key business concepts, including finance, marketing, operations, entrepreneurship and business strategy.

• Using real-world examples and current business developments to make learning relevant and engaging.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Business and wider Humanities departments.

• Contributing to departmental planning, curriculum development and assessment.

• Supporting students' academic progress, personal development and wellbeing.

• Participating in parents' evenings, staff meetings, CPD and other school activities.

• Contributing to the wider life of the school and, where appropriate, supporting extra-curricular activities.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A recognised teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE.

• Experience teaching Business at KS3 and/or KS4.

• A strong knowledge of the Business curriculum and examination requirements.

• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• A genuine enthusiasm for Business and the ability to inspire students.

• The ability to establish positive and professional relationships with students.

• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative department.

• A proactive and organised approach to teaching and professional responsibilities.

• Legal ability to work within the UK.
