The Role
As a Business Teacher, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging Business lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
Differentiating lessons and resources to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
Preparing students effectively for internal and external assessments.
Marking and assessing students' work in accordance with school and departmental policies.
Monitoring student progress and implementing appropriate interventions where required.
Developing students' understanding of key business concepts, including finance, marketing, operations, entrepreneurship and business strategy.
Using real-world examples and current business developments to make learning relevant and engaging.
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Business and wider Humanities departments.
Contributing to departmental planning, curriculum development and assessment.
Supporting students' academic progress, personal development and wellbeing.
Participating in parents' evenings, staff meetings, CPD and other school activities.
Contributing to the wider life of the school and, where appropriate, supporting extra-curricular activities.
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A recognised teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE.
Experience teaching Business at KS3 and/or KS4.
A strong knowledge of the Business curriculum and examination requirements.
The ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A genuine enthusiasm for Business and the ability to inspire students.
The ability to establish positive and professional relationships with students.
A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative department.
A proactive and organised approach to teaching and professional responsibilities.
Legal ability to work within the UK.
