The Role
The successful Social Sciences Teacher will be responsible for:
Delivering engaging lessons across KS4 and KS5 in their area of specialism.
Developing students' analytical, evaluative and critical-thinking skills.
Encouraging discussion and debate around contemporary social issues.
Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
Supporting students with extended writing and examination technique.
Monitoring progress and using assessment information to identify areas for development.
Providing constructive feedback and targeted intervention.
Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development.
Working collaboratively with colleagues to share effective teaching practice.
Experience and Qualifications
Social Sciences Teacher with the ability to teach KS4 and KS5.
Specialism in Psychology, Sociology or a related Social Science.
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of examination requirements.
Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as PGCE.
Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level would be advantageous.
Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
Legal ability to work within the UK.
