Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Southend-on-Sea as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver Psychology across KS4 and KS5, helping students develop a strong understanding of psychological theories, research and contemporary issues.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Psychology and enjoys creating lessons that encourage curiosity, discussion and independent thinking. The Role
The successful Psychology Teacher will be responsible for:
Delivering engaging Psychology lessons across KS4 and KS5.
Teaching psychological theories, research methods and contemporary applications.
Developing students' ability to analyse, evaluate and apply psychological concepts.
Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations through effective revision and exam practice.
Using questioning and discussion to develop students' confidence and understanding.
Monitoring student progress and identifying areas requiring further support.
Providing clear and constructive feedback to improve written responses.
Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development.
Encouraging independent study and wider engagement with Psychology.
Experience and Qualifications
Psychology Teacher with the ability to teach KS4 and KS5.
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Psychology examination specifications.
Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as PGCE.
Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level Psychology would be advantageous.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to make complex psychological concepts accessible and engaging.
Legal ability to work within the UK.
