Our client is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Design & Technology Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Colchester as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop both their practical skills and theoretical understanding.

The Role

The successful Design & Technology Teacher will be responsible for:

• Delivering engaging practical and theoretical DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Planning differentiated activities that accommodate a range of abilities and learning needs.

• Developing students' confidence in designing, making and evaluating practical outcomes.

• Ensuring appropriate health and safety procedures are followed during practical activities.

• Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support progress.

• Contributing to curriculum planning and the wider development of the department.

• Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

• Supporting extracurricular and enrichment opportunities where appropriate.

Experience and Qualifications

• Design & Technology Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4.

• Strong subject knowledge and practical expertise.

• Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as PGCE.

• Experience delivering practical and project-based learning.

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

• Commitment to supporting student progress and creativity.

• Legal ability to work within the UK.
