The successful English Teacher will teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop the skills needed to engage with challenging texts and communicate their ideas effectively.
You will teach a broad range of literature and non-fiction, encouraging students to analyse language, structure, character, themes and context. Alongside this, you will develop students' ability to write accurately and effectively for a range of purposes and audiences.
At GCSE, you will prepare students for their examinations and help them develop the confidence to tackle demanding questions. You will teach students how to select relevant evidence, analyse quotations and construct clear, developed arguments.
The role will involve regular assessment and feedback, with the successful candidate expected to use student work to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
You will also contribute to departmental planning and share resources with colleagues. The school values teachers who bring enthusiasm into the classroom and who can make English accessible to students with different abilities.

English Literature, English Language or related Degree
QTS
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4

Salary
The salary for this English Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
