This Outstanding School in Sutton is seeking a thoughtful and enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities department.
You will teach RE across KS3 and KS4, creating lessons that encourage students to explore religious beliefs, philosophical ideas and contemporary ethical issues. The successful teacher will be able to lead mature discussions while ensuring that students develop the knowledge required to succeed academically.
At KS3, you will help students build a strong foundation in the study of religion and ethics. At KS4, you will prepare students for GCSE examinations, developing their ability to analyse sources, compare viewpoints and construct balanced, well-supported arguments.
The school values teachers who can make RE relevant to students' lives. You will be encouraged to use contemporary issues and real-world examples to help students understand why the subject matters.
You will assess students regularly and use feedback to support their development. You will also contribute to curriculum planning and work alongside colleagues within the Humanities department.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
RE, Theology, Philosophy or related Degree
QTS
Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge
GCSE RE experience desirable
Excellent communication skills
Ability to lead respectful classroom discussions
Strong classroom management
Commitment to inclusion and student achievement
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
