IT Technician - Successful School in Ipswich, Suffolk
We are working with an established and growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) is looking for an IT Support Technician to join its technical team in Ipswich.
The Role
You will provide IT support across the school, ensuring staff and pupils have reliable access to the technology they need for teaching, learning and day-to-day operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff and pupils
Troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft 365 and classroom technology
Resolving basic networking and connectivity issues
Installing, configuring and maintaining PCs, laptops, printers and other IT equipment
Supporting interactive whiteboards and other classroom technologies
Assisting with IT projects, upgrades and equipment deployments
Managing user accounts, permissions and basic Active Directory tasks
Supporting software applications used across the school
Monitoring and resolving hardware and software faults
Working closely with teachers, support staff and the wider IT team
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
2+ years' experience in an IT support role
Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365
An understanding of basic networking
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A patient and approachable manner when supporting non-technical users
Essential Requirement
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as occasional travel to customer sites across Suffolk is required.
