This Outstanding School in Merton is looking for an enthusiastic Psychology Teacher to join its Humanities and Social Sciences provision. The successful candidate will teach Psychology at GCSE and A-Level, helping students develop a strong understanding of psychological theories, research methods and real-world applications.
You will be expected to deliver lessons that go beyond simply covering the specification. Students should be encouraged to evaluate evidence, compare different explanations and apply psychological concepts to unfamiliar situations. The ability to make complex theories accessible and relevant will be particularly important.
At GCSE, you will help students build a secure foundation in topics such as memory, social influence, attachment, psychopathology and research methods. At A-Level, you will support students in developing the analytical and evaluative skills required for more advanced study.
Assessment will be an important part of the role. You will monitor progress, identify misconceptions and provide clear feedback that allows students to understand how they can improve. You will also contribute to departmental planning and the development of resources.
The school would particularly welcome a teacher who enjoys discussion and debate and who can create a classroom where students feel confident expressing ideas while maintaining a high academic standard.

Psychology Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Psychology Degree or relevant degree
QTS
Experience teaching Psychology at KS4 and KS5
Strong knowledge of the GCSE and A-Level curriculum
Excellent analytical and evaluative skills
Ability to teach research methods confidently
Strong classroom management
Ability to engage students through discussion and questioning
Commitment to student progress and achievement
Salary
The salary for this Psychology Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
