The successful Pastoral Support Officer will develop positive relationships with students and become a trusted member of the school's wider support network.
You may work with students who are struggling with attendance, behaviour, organisation, motivation or engagement. Your role will be to understand the underlying concerns, provide appropriate support and work with the student and relevant staff to identify practical solutions.
You will monitor students' progress against agreed targets and provide feedback to pastoral leaders. Where appropriate, you will contribute to individual support plans and help ensure that agreed interventions are followed consistently.
Communication with parents and carers will be an important part of the role. You will need to discuss concerns professionally and constructively while maintaining a positive focus on supporting the student.
You will also work closely with teachers, tutors, safeguarding staff and senior leaders. The ability to share relevant information appropriately and maintain accurate records will be essential.

Pastoral Support Officer - Experience and Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people.
Experience in pastoral support, education, youth work or a related environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
