Role Overview

A highly regarded independent day and boarding school in Shrewsbury is seeking an inspiring and creative Art Teacher to join its vibrant Art & Design Department. This full-time, permanent position involves delivering Art across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, encouraging pupils to explore a wide variety of media, techniques, and artistic contexts.

The ideal candidate will foster individual expression, technical discipline, and critical thinking. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT), you will join a supportive, forward-thinking faculty with outstanding studio spaces and extensive resources.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Teaching: Deliver dynamic, high-quality Art lessons across KS3–KS5, guiding pupils through fine art, digital media, textiles, or 3D design depending on specialist expertise.

  • Portfolio Development: Support GCSE and A-Level students in building creative portfolios and preparing applications for top art colleges and universities.

  • Enrichment: Contribute to co-curricular arts provision, including open studio sessions, gallery visits, exhibitions, and cross-curricular projects.

  • Qualifications: Relevant degree in Fine Art, Visual Arts, or a related field alongside QTS or PGCE.

  • Skills: Strong technical artistic knowledge, excellent classroom management, and a passion for nurturing artistic talent across all ability levels.
