Job Overview
Psychology plays a prominent role in this school’s Sixth Form academic identity. The successful applicant will deliver intellectually stimulating Psychology lessons primarily across Key Stage 5 (A-Level Psychology), with potential contributions to introductory social science modules at Key Stage 4.
Working closely with the Social Sciences department, you will guide pupils through cognitive models, psychopathology, biopsychology, and research methods, while supporting Mind & Brain student societies. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Teach engaging theoretical and empirical Psychology lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5
Lead co-curricular academic initiatives, such as psychology societies, research journal clubs, and guest lectures
Guide A-Level pupils through statistical analysis, research methodology critique, and structured essay writing
Utilize specialized software and research data archives to enhance psychological learning
Assess, track, and report on student progress across research projects and formal examinations
Fulfill pastoral duties as a Sixth Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and UCAS applications

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
Honors degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a closely related scientific discipline
Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong A-Level Psychology outcomes
Deep knowledge of psychological research methodologies, statistical evaluation, and exam specifications
An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
