CORE PURPOSE
We are seeking an articulate, analytical, and inspiring Maths Teacher to deliver high-quality mathematics instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with opportunities for Key Stage 5 A-Level Mathematics delivery depending on candidate experience). Working within a well-resourced Mathematics department, the successful candidate will foster mathematical fluency, cultivate problem-solving confidence, and prepare students of all attainment levels to excel in GCSE Mathematics and functional numeracy.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, structured mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Edexcel/AQA GCSE Mathematics specifications), developing pupils' fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills across algebra, geometry, statistics, and number work.
Post-16 Provision (Optional): Contribute to Key Stage 5 A-Level Mathematics or Level 3 Core Maths delivery where applicable, supporting students aiming for STEM and quantitative degree pathways.
Diagnostic Assessment & Intervention: Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, analyse pupil performance data, and implement targeted academic interventions to close attainment gaps ahead of terminal examinations.
Mathematical Extension & Co-Curricular: Support departmental extension initiatives, including entering pupils into national competitions such as the UKMT Mathematical Challenge and running after-school maths revision hubs.
Pastoral Responsibilities: Serve as a dedicated Form Tutor, supporting pupils' personal welfare, academic progress, and character development within the school’s supportive pastoral structure.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced secondary practitioners are equally encouraged to apply.
Experience: Proven experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a UK mainstream secondary school or academy setting.
Skills: Strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management, clear explanations of complex mathematical concepts, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in students across the full ability spectrum.
