A thriving secondary academy in Manchester is seeking an inspiring Teacher of Mathematics to join its STEM faculty for an immediate (ASAP) start.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a practitioner passionate about numerical fluency, problem-solving, and building mathematical confidence in young people.

Job Overview

Mathematics plays a prominent role in this school’s academic and co-curricular identity. The successful applicant will deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Higher and Foundation), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Mathematics delivery.

Working closely with the Mathematics department, you will guide pupils through algebraic manipulation, geometric reasoning, and multi-step problem solving, while running targeted revision workshops. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and mathematically rigorous lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5

  • Plan and deliver lessons that build numerical fluency, mathematical modeling, and problem-solving resilience

  • Guide GCSE and A-Level pupils through structured assessment, feedback, and written exam preparation

  • Utilize digital learning platforms and interactive software to enhance mathematical understanding

  • Assess, track, and report on student progress across formal mock exams and classwork

  • Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

  • Honors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or a quantitative discipline

  • Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE/A-Level Mathematics outcomes

  • Deep subject knowledge and the confidence to stretch mathematically ambitious pupils

  • An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
