The successful Geography Teacher will teach across KS3 and KS4 and deliver a broad curriculum covering both physical and human Geography. You will help students understand topics such as natural hazards, ecosystems, climate change, urban environments, development and geographical inequalities.
The school is looking for someone who can use maps, data, case studies and contemporary examples effectively to develop students' understanding. At GCSE, you will prepare students for examinations while helping them develop the ability to interpret information, evaluate geographical issues and construct well-supported answers.
You will be responsible for planning lessons, assessing progress and providing useful feedback. Differentiation will be important, as you will work with students with different levels of confidence and prior attainment.
The department values teamwork, so you will have opportunities to work alongside colleagues on curriculum planning, resources and assessment. You may also have opportunities to contribute to fieldwork and wider Geography activities.

Geography Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Geography Degree or relevant degree
QTS
Experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4
Strong knowledge of physical and human Geography
GCSE teaching experience desirable
Ability to use geographical data and case studies effectively
Strong classroom management
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Salary
The salary for this Geography Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
