The school is seeking an enthusiastic Economics Teacher who can deliver engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons to students at GCSE and A-Level. You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons covering key areas of the Economics curriculum, including markets, business behaviour, economic performance, government policy and international economics.
The successful candidate will be able to explain complex economic theories clearly and relate them to current affairs and real-world examples. Students should be encouraged to question, evaluate and form their own reasoned conclusions rather than simply memorising information.
You will monitor student progress through regular assessment and provide clear feedback that helps students understand how to improve. At A-Level, you will support students in developing the analytical and evaluative writing skills required for successful examination performance.
The role will also involve working collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to curriculum development and supporting the wider academic life of the school. There is scope for the successful applicant to contribute to enrichment activities such as Economics societies, competitions and wider academic discussion.

Economics Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Economics Degree or relevant degree
QTS
Experience teaching Economics at KS4 and KS5
Strong knowledge of the GCSE and A-Level curriculum
Excellent analytical and evaluative skills
Ability to use current economic issues effectively in lessons
Strong classroom management
Applications welcomed from experienced teachers and suitably qualified ECTs
Salary
The salary for this Economics Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
