School Administrator role | Liverpool Secondary School
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to provide effective administrative support within a busy secondary school in Liverpool.
The successful candidate will have previous school administration experience and be confident working across a range of administrative duties, managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The role will involve supporting the wider school office, maintaining pupil records, dealing with parents and visitors and assisting staff with day-to-day administration.
Key Responsibilities
General School Administration
Provide efficient administrative support across the school.
Maintain accurate electronic and paper-based records.
Update pupil and school information on the school's MIS/database.
Prepare letters, reports, forms and other correspondence.
Process incoming and outgoing communication.
Support staff with general administrative requirements.
Maintain organised filing and record-keeping systems.
Reception & Communication
Provide reception and front-of-house support.
Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries professionally.
Welcome parents, visitors and external professionals.
Liaise with staff, pupils and parents as required.
Support meetings, appointments and other school activities.
Data & Organisation
Input and maintain information accurately on school systems.
Assist with producing reports and maintaining administrative trackers.
Handle confidential information appropriately.
Ensure documentation is completed and stored correctly.
Manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
Proven experience working in a school administration role.
A high level of administrative and organisational ability.
Experience using a school MIS/database.
Good Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Ability to work efficiently and use initiative.
Professional communication skills when dealing with parents, staff and visitors.
Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection within a school environment.
Experience of Arbor or another school MIS would be advantageous.
