An Outstanding School in Sutton is looking to appoint a dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities team. The successful candidate will teach RE across KS3 and KS4 and will be expected to create lessons that encourage students to think critically, discuss ideas respectfully and develop well-supported arguments.
The role will involve planning and delivering a broad RE curriculum, assessing student progress and preparing students effectively for GCSE where applicable. You will be expected to make lessons accessible to students with different starting points while maintaining appropriate academic challenge.
The school values teachers who know their subject well and can communicate ideas clearly. You will have the opportunity to use discussion, debate, source analysis and contemporary examples to help students understand complex religious, philosophical and ethical issues.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy or related Degree
QTS
Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge
GCSE teaching experience desirable
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to facilitate mature and purposeful classroom discussion
Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
