A fantastic opportunity has become available for an engaging and committed History Teacher to join a thriving Humanities department. The successful candidate will teach History across KS3 and KS4, delivering a varied curriculum that enables students to develop their knowledge, interpretation and understanding of historical events.
The school is looking for a teacher who can create purposeful lessons that encourage students to ask questions, challenge interpretations and form well-supported arguments. You will be expected to plan effectively, monitor progress carefully and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of different learners.
There is a strong emphasis on developing students’ written skills, particularly as they progress towards GCSE. The successful applicant will therefore need to be confident preparing students for examinations and helping them become increasingly independent historians.
You will work alongside experienced members of the Humanities team, sharing ideas and contributing to curriculum development. History Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
History Degree or relevant degree
QTS
Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4
Strong knowledge of the History curriculum
GCSE teaching experience
Ability to motivate and challenge students of different abilities
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Applications welcomed from experienced teachers and suitably qualified ECTs
Salary
The salary for this History Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
