A well-established secondary school in Peterborough is looking for a reliable and practical Site Supervisor to support the day-to-day management of its buildings, grounds and facilities.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. You will be responsible for carrying out routine site checks, identifying maintenance issues, supporting contractors and ensuring that the premises remain operational throughout the school day.
This role requires a practical individual who is comfortable taking responsibility and working independently. You will need to be able to manage routine duties effectively while responding appropriately to unexpected maintenance, safety or security issues.

The Site Supervisor will support the effective day-to-day operation of the school premises. This will involve regular checks, minor maintenance, security responsibilities and assisting with practical arrangements around the school.
The successful candidate will need to be proactive and able to identify potential issues before they become significant problems. You should also be comfortable communicating with contractors and escalating specialist maintenance requirements when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the day-to-day management of the school site.
Carrying out regular inspections of buildings and grounds.
Identifying maintenance and safety concerns.
Completing minor repairs where appropriate.
Reporting larger maintenance issues promptly.
Monitoring classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas.
Checking outdoor areas for potential hazards.
Supporting opening and closing procedures.
Maintaining site security.
Monitoring access to the premises.
Supporting visitor sign-in procedures.
Assisting contractors and service providers.
Ensuring contractors follow relevant site procedures.
Supporting routine maintenance and servicing arrangements.
Carrying out appropriate health and safety checks.
Maintaining records relating to inspections and maintenance.
Responding promptly to urgent site issues.
Supporting room set-up for meetings and school events.
Moving furniture and equipment when required.
Assisting with deliveries.
Monitoring the condition and presentation of the school site.
Reporting damage, hazards or cleanliness concerns.
Supporting grounds and seasonal maintenance where required.
Ensuring tools and equipment are stored safely.
Liaising professionally with staff, visitors and contractors.
Supporting the wider premises team.
Following school policies relating to health and safety, security and safeguarding.
Contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for students.
Experience and Requirements
Previous experience in premises, facilities, maintenance, caretaking or site management would be advantageous.
The successful candidate should be practical, dependable and capable of working without constant supervision. You will need to understand how to prioritise work and recognise when an issue requires immediate attention.
