A welcoming and well-established primary school in Worcester is looking to appoint a dependable and practical Site Supervisor to join its premises and operations team.
This is an important position responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, clean and well-presented school environment. The successful candidate will take a proactive approach to the day-to-day running of the site, carrying out routine checks, responding to maintenance issues and supporting the security of the school.
The role would suit someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You will need to be comfortable working independently, managing a varied workload and responding calmly when unexpected issues arise.
As the school is a busy environment with pupils, staff, parents, contractors and visitors on site throughout the day, the successful candidate will also need to communicate professionally and understand the importance of safeguarding and site security.

Premises Team
The premises function is responsible for ensuring that the school remains safe and operational throughout the school year. The Site Supervisor will provide hands-on support with the daily management of the buildings and grounds.
You will carry out regular checks, monitor the condition of facilities and respond to maintenance requirements. You may also assist with room preparation, deliveries, contractors and school events.
The successful candidate will need to be organised and able to distinguish between routine tasks and issues that require immediate attention.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the day-to-day operation of the school site.
Carrying out regular checks of buildings and grounds.
Identifying maintenance, safety and security issues.
Reporting larger maintenance requirements promptly.
Carrying out minor repairs and practical maintenance tasks where appropriate.
Monitoring classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and communal areas.
Checking outdoor areas and reporting any hazards.
Supporting school opening and closing procedures.
Ensuring appropriate site security is maintained.
Monitoring access to the school premises.
Supporting visitor management and sign-in procedures.
Assisting contractors attending the school.
Ensuring contractors follow appropriate site procedures.
Supporting routine health and safety checks.
Maintaining records of maintenance and site-related issues.
Responding promptly to urgent premises concerns.
Assisting with the movement of furniture and equipment.
Preparing rooms for meetings, assemblies and school activities.
Supporting deliveries and ensuring items are stored appropriately.
Monitoring the general presentation of the site.
Reporting concerns relating to cleanliness, damage or hazards.
Supporting seasonal maintenance tasks.
Ensuring tools and equipment are stored safely.
Supporting the wider premises team when required.
Communicating effectively with school staff and external contractors.
Following school policies relating to health and safety, security and safeguarding.
Contributing to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for pupils.
Experience and Requirements
Previous experience within premises, facilities, maintenance, caretaking or site management would be highly beneficial. School experience would be an advantage, although candidates with relevant experience in other environments will also be considered.
The successful candidate must have a practical approach and be comfortable completing routine site checks and minor maintenance tasks. You should be able to recognise potential problems and take appropriate action before they become more serious.

Safeguarding
