CORE PURPOSE
We are seeking an articulate, dynamic, and commercial-minded Business Teacher to deliver engaging Key Stage 4 GCSE Business Studies and Key Stage 5 A-Level Business and Vocational BTEC/CTEC Business courses. Working within an established Business & Enterprise faculty, the successful candidate will introduce students to corporate strategy, marketing, financial management, operations, and entrepreneurship, fostering real-world business acumen and academic rigor across the secondary and post-16 age range.

Set on a modern campus featuring contemporary business suites, interactive seminar spaces, and dedicated Sixth Form study hubs, this vibrant secondary academy supports over 1,200 pupils aged 11–18 in Birmingham. KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and teach dynamic theoretical and applied Business lessons across Key Stage 4 (AQA/Edexcel GCSE Business) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Business Studies and BTEC National Level 3 in Business), covering marketing, finance, human resources, and business operations.
Vocational Coursework Management: Manage, mark, and moderate internal BTEC/CTEC coursework portfolios in strict compliance with exam board standards, providing clear, structured feedback to guide independent assignment work.
Real-World Case Studies & Enterprise: Embed contemporary case studies, global market developments, and local commercial examples into daily teaching to connect classroom learning with current economic contexts.
Higher Education & Career Mentoring: Support post-16 students with UCAS personal statements, guide applicants aiming for Business Management, Finance, and Economics degree programs, and advise pupils seeking higher business apprenticeships.
Pastoral Responsibilities: Act as a Sixth Form or secondary Form Tutor, tracking pupil academic progress, promoting wellbeing, and supporting whole-school values.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS with a degree in Business Studies, Business Management, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced secondary practitioners are equally encouraged to apply.
Experience: Proven experience teaching Business Studies across GCSE, A-Level, or vocational BTEC Level 3 qualifications within a UK mainstream secondary school, academy, or sixth form setting.
Skills: High-level subject knowledge across core business modules, strong coursework moderation skills, excellent classroom management, and the ability to inspire entrepreneurial thinking and commercial awareness in young people.
