A well-established secondary school in Coventry is looking to appoint a highly organised, professional and approachable School Administrator to join its busy administrative team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play an important role in supporting the smooth running of a school.
The successful candidate will provide a broad range of administrative support across the school, working closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, students, parents and external contacts. No two days are likely to be exactly the same, so the ability to prioritise effectively, manage changing demands and maintain high standards of accuracy will be essential.

Administration Team
The school office is a busy and central part of the school environment. It provides the first point of contact for many parents, visitors and external organisations while also supporting staff and students with a wide variety of administrative requirements.
As School Administrator, you will contribute to the efficient running of the office and provide support across different areas as required. This may include student records, correspondence, attendance-related administration, admissions support, meetings, general office duties and communication with families.
You will need to be able to manage routine administrative work while responding quickly when more urgent matters arise. Strong organisation and the ability to prioritise will therefore be particularly important.
Key Responsibilities
Providing efficient day-to-day administrative support to the school.
Acting as a professional and welcoming first point of contact for parents, carers and visitors.
Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries appropriately.
Responding to emails and correspondence in a timely manner.
Welcoming visitors and following appropriate visitor and safeguarding procedures.
Maintaining accurate student and administrative records.
Updating school databases and information systems.
Preparing letters, documents, reports and other correspondence.
Supporting senior leaders and members of staff with administrative tasks.
Organising meetings, appointments and relevant documentation.
Supporting the administration of school events and activities.
Assisting with student admissions and maintaining associated records.
Supporting attendance administration where required.
Liaising with parents and carers in a professional and helpful manner.
Recording information accurately and ensuring records are kept up to date.
Maintaining electronic and paper filing systems.
Handling confidential information sensitively and appropriately.
Preparing information and documents for meetings.
Monitoring incoming correspondence and directing information to the appropriate staff.
Liaising with external organisations and professionals when required.
Supporting the wider administration team during busy periods.
Assisting with general office organisation and ensuring procedures are followed consistently.
Identifying administrative issues and raising them with the appropriate member of staff.
Providing a high standard of customer service to students, parents and visitors.
Supporting the school with general administrative requirements as they arise.
Following school policies relating to safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
Experience and Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in school administration, reception, office administration or another busy professional environment. Experience within education would be advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable administrative experience will also be considered.
Excellent organisation is essential. You will be responsible for managing several tasks throughout the day and must be able to prioritise effectively without compromising accuracy.
The successful candidate will also need strong communication skills. You will regularly communicate with parents, students, staff and visitors, so a professional, friendly and confident approach is required.
