The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Geography lessons that encourage students to understand both the physical and human world around them. You will teach a broad curriculum and help students develop the geographical knowledge, analytical skills and confidence needed to succeed at GCSE.
This is a department where Geography is taught with enthusiasm. Students are encouraged to ask questions, analyse evidence and understand how geographical processes affect people and places. You should therefore be able to go beyond simply delivering the curriculum and create lessons that genuinely capture students' interest.
You will work alongside experienced colleagues and contribute to departmental planning, assessment and curriculum development. The school is keen to appoint someone who is collaborative, reliable and committed to maintaining high expectations.

Geography Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
• Geography Degree or relevant degree
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4
• GCSE Geography experience
• KS5 experience advantageous
• Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum
• Excellent classroom management
• Ability to differentiate effectively
• Strong communication skills
• High expectations of student achievement
• Commitment to professional development

Salary
The salary for this Geography Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
