You will bring Food Technology to life through engaging practical lessons, creative projects and opportunities for students to develop their technical knowledge and confidence in the kitchen and classroom.
The Opportunity
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, practical and challenging Food Technology lessons across the relevant Key Stages.
Develop students’ knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, food science and healthy eating.
Encourage creativity, independence, problem-solving and confidence through practical work.
Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
Prepare students thoroughly for examinations and relevant qualifications where applicable.
Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety and hygiene within practical lessons.
Contribute to curriculum development and wider departmental initiatives.
Support enrichment activities and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
About You
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Food Technology.
Have experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
Be confident delivering practical lessons and managing a specialist food classroom.
Inspire students of different abilities and encourage them to achieve their full potential.
Demonstrate high expectations for achievement, effort, behaviour and practical standards.
Bring creativity, enthusiasm and a positive approach to the classroom.
Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive department.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
