Job Overview
Science is a key priority area within the school. The successful candidate will teach general Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined and Separate Sciences), with the opportunity to teach your specific subject specialism (Chemistry or Biology) at Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
Working closely with specialist science technicians and experienced teachers, you will design and deliver safe, hands-on practical experiments and theoretical units that build scientific inquiry and analytical confidence. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high-impact Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined & Triple Science)
Plan, resource, and execute safe laboratory experiments in full compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines
Deliver A-Level Biology or Chemistry units to Key Stage 5 Sixth Form students (commensurate with specialism)
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing examination classes for high GCSE and A-Level attainment
Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral care and overall wellbeing of your assigned year group
Maintain high standards of laboratory safety, risk assessment, and equipment care in coordination with technicians

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
Honors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline
Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for securing strong GCSE Science outcomes
Up-to-date knowledge of secondary laboratory safety protocols and required practical assessments
An active enhanced DBS on the Update Service
