Human Resources Manager – Join an Outstanding School in Islington
People are at the heart of every successful school, and this Outstanding secondary school in Islington is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead a professional and well-organised HR service.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be the first point of contact for a wide range of people matters and will play an important role in ensuring staff feel supported throughout their time at the school.
Your role
The successful candidate will have responsibility for a varied HR workload, including:
Employee Relations
Providing practical advice on absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters while ensuring policies and procedures are followed appropriately.
Recruitment & Compliance
Managing recruitment processes, contracts, onboarding and safeguarding checks, ensuring the school maintains robust and compliant procedures.
HR Administration
Overseeing personnel records, HR systems, staff changes, payroll information and key employment documentation.
People Support
Working with managers to resolve issues, improve staff engagement and support a positive workplace culture.
Policy & Procedures
Reviewing and implementing HR policies while keeping the school informed of relevant employment legislation and best practice.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with solid HR generalist experience who can work independently and confidently advise managers and senior colleagues.
You will need strong knowledge of employment practices, excellent organisation and communication skills, and a calm, professional approach when dealing with sensitive matters. CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be desirable.
