A fantastic opportunity is available for a Design Technology Technician to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Camden this October.

The school is looking for someone who can take responsibility for the practical side of the department and provide reliable day-to-day support to teachers. You’ll help prepare resources, maintain equipment and ensure students can safely complete practical projects.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Prepare materials and equipment for DT lessons

• Set up practical activities and demonstrations

• Support staff with student projects

• Maintain machinery, tools and other specialist equipment

• Keep workshops and preparation areas organised

• Manage materials, stock and consumables

• Complete regular equipment checks

• Report maintenance and safety concerns

• Follow appropriate workshop and school safety procedures

Could This Be You?

This position would suit a hands-on technician who enjoys working in a practical environment. Experience within a school is advantageous, but we’re also interested in candidates with relevant experience from workshops, engineering, manufacturing or other technical settings.

You’ll need to be responsible, methodical and confident using a range of tools and equipment. Most importantly, you’ll understand how to create a safe and well-organised practical environment.
