The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging RE lessons that encourage students to think critically, understand different viewpoints and develop the ability to discuss complex questions respectfully.
You will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering the relevant Religious Studies curriculum and preparing students effectively for GCSE examinations. Lessons should provide students with opportunities to develop their knowledge while also building the analytical and evaluative skills required at GCSE.
The school is looking for a teacher who can create a classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and discussing different perspectives. Strong subject knowledge is important, but so is the ability to make challenging topics accessible to students of different abilities.
You will become part of a supportive Humanities team and will work collaboratively on planning, assessment and curriculum development.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
• Religious Studies, Theology or Philosophy Degree
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience teaching RE at KS3
• GCSE Religious Studies teaching experience
• Strong knowledge of the relevant GCSE curriculum
• Excellent subject knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective classroom management
• Ability to differentiate for different abilities
• Commitment to high standards
• Ability to work collaboratively within a Humanities department

Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
